Billy Murphy minds his own business and sings his songs in the pubs around Belfast. Then the IRA decides that he can be useful to them in preparing to restart the armed struggle for Irish unity. He finds himself caught up in their plots and learns the truth about the Troubles that he had never been told. But there are others who watch and take revenge for past atrocities. Billy must be careful not to come under suspicion and find his own life at risk from the terrorist killers he is working for.
